［袴田事件］WBC会長からメッセージ

　WBC（世界ボクシング評議会）のマウリシオ・スライマン会長より、袴田巖さんの無罪確定に関する下記のメッセージをいただきました。今後とも、袴田巖さんの名誉回復にご協力いただいた皆さまに心より感謝申し上げます。

“It is humbling to acknowledge the passion and diligence done by the legal team working to clear Mr. Hakamada’s name. We at the WBC, and myself personally, stand with them and praise for the incredible work done to find justice in a case that shook the world of boxing as one of our fighters suffered so many years.”

“The WBC proudly joined the movement in support of Hakamada and constantly participated throughout the process and we are extremely happy and satisfied that justice has been served. Just as the WBC passionately worked for 25 years to find a Presidential pardon from USA President Donald Trump for Jack Jackson, now Japan justice authorities have freed the name of Hakamada while he is still alive.”

“The WBC presented a honorary world champion belt to Mr. Hakamada's family when he was initially released from prison and the WBC will render an homage to him during our upcoming world annual convention in Hamburg, Germany, in which we will also acknowledge the legal team which supported his case without any personal benefit."
